With Galaxy Note 10 phablet we all expecting various upgrades to Note9.
With that many options of smartphone devices in the same series, it becomes a real hard thing for a user to decide which one suits them best and meets their requirements the most. Since the Galaxy Note 10 is not yet released, it leaves the new buyers in dilemma of whether to buy the already released old models or if the new one is worth waiting for. The choice of the phone to buy depends on a lot of factors based on personal requirements but also majorly on the price.
If you are a new buyer and going through the same dilemma, we have answers for you. We are bringing you a comparison between Galaxy Note 10, Note 9 and Note 8 which will help you guide through your needs and will help you decide your new mobile phone.
Last year, Samsung didn’t made significant changes with Galaxy Note 9 from Note8 but this won’t work now. With blazing-fast OnePlus 7 killer flagship even at low budget. It’s going to be tough for Samsung. Although OnePlus not even close to specs offered by Note10, it’s surely affecting brand like Apple, Samsung, Huawei due to cheap availability.
Since Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is not yet released the comparison we are providing you below is based on estimations as well as the confirmations given by the company itself or a reliable source. The comparison is based on various features – both internal and external.
When it comes to design, Samsung did not change a lot in Note 9 as compared to Note 8. They both look almost similar except for the fact that Note 9 has a fingerprint sensor at the back whereas Note 8 does not. Galaxy Note10, on the other hand, is going to be totally different than both the previous models and will be having an on-screen fingerprint sensor. There also is only a slight change in dimensions and weight of the two old devices but due to the bigger screen this time of Note 10, the phone is supposed to have 6.6-inch Infinity display with 4k resolution, no bezel at all.
Also, the S Pen of Note 10 is the main highlight of the smartphone as it is going to have a camera at its rear end with optical zoom feature as absent in previous models which were capable of minor features involving media, presentations, live message ability, etc.

Note 9’s S Pen is added with a new feature of Bluetooth which provides it with many more features than Note 8’s S Pen. It is also equipped with a super-capacitor by which when the S Pen is inserted in the mobile device, it gets charged. The time for it to get fully charged is just 40 seconds.

|Galaxy Note 9||6.37 x 3.01 x 0.35 in, 201 g|
|Galaxy Note 8||6.40 x 2.94 x 0.34 in, 195 g|
All three models are dust and water resistance. Note 8 and Note 9 do have audio jacks but there is a slight chance that Samsung might be removing it from Note 10.
Talking about the display, Note 10 is going to be a giant. It is said to be the biggest ever smartphone ever with a display size of 6.66 inches which is huge in front of the displays of Note 8 and Note 9 with display sizes of 6.3 and 6.4 inches respectively. Note 8 and Note 9 again, does not have much change in the displays as well. All three devices have super AMOLED screens.

|Galaxy Note 9||6.4 inches|
|Galaxy Note 8||6.3 inches|
Both the devices, Note 8 and Note 9 have almost the same camera specifications including 12MP rear camera, the image resolution of 4000 x 3000 Pixels, CMOS image sensor, and Optical Image Stabilisation. The front camera of both the old models is of 8 MP. The difference is that Note 9 has a dual lens with the aperture between F1.7 and F2.4 whereas Note 8 has a single lens with an aperture of F1.7. The Galaxy Note 10 is completely on a different track besides having a 12 + 16 + 13 MP triple lens rear camera and 8 MP front camera. It has a camera fitted in its S Pen at the rear end to achieve the optical zoom feature which the company has been trying for so long.
|Galaxy Note 10||12 + 16 + 13 MP TRIPLE (Rear) + 8 MP (Front)|
|Galaxy Note 9||12 MP (Rear) DUAL + 8 MP (Front), F1.7 – F2.4|
|Galaxy Note 8||12 MP (Rear) + 8 MP (Front), F1.7|
The Galaxy Note 8 and Note 9 do not have facial recognition but there are high chances that Note 10 might have the same.
Note 9 and Note 8 use Samsung’s own Exynos 9 Octa 9810 and Exynos 9 Octa 8895 chipsets respectively but Note 10 has a slight chance of getting installed with Snapdragon 855 chipset else it will also be using the Samsung Exynos 9 (8895) chipset. The formers are using octa-core processor and so might be Note 10. Samsung has already changed a lot in terms of display, S Pen and the fingerprint sensor that focusing on changing the processors might have taken a backseat this time but we can not be sure about anything unless it is confirmed. All the three models have 6 GB RAM.
|Galaxy Note 10||Samsung Exynos / Snapdragon, 8 GB|
|Galaxy Note 9||Samsung Exynos 9 Octa 9810, 6 GB|
|Galaxy Note 8||Samsung Exynos 9 Octa 8895, 6 GB|

NETWORK CONNECTIVITY: 5G is here!
Most companies do not take much efforts to upgrade the connectivity but Samsung is putting its hands in it among all the big brands and upgrading the network support from 4G to 5G which will be the first company and first smartphone with 5G connectivity. All three mobiles are dual sim devices.

|Galaxy Note 9||4G, 3G, 2G|
|Galaxy Note 8||4G, 3G, 2G|
The Galaxy Note 9 cost $ 970.94 and $ 1214.00 for 128 GB and 512 GB variants when it got released so estimating the price increase as usual with every new model, Note 10 might be costing around $1150 to $1400 USD. This might be a very high price for the users and can bring a huge setback to the company. The new Galaxy Note 10 is surely about to enter the $1000+ club. This is very well known that with the release of new models the price of old ones decreases in price. The Galaxy Note 9 and Note 8 price has dropped to $860 and $478 for 128 GB and 64 GB variants.
|Galaxy Note 10||$1150 – $1400|
|Galaxy Note 9||$860|
|Galaxy Note 8||$478|
Storage is the main thing a user sees in a mobile phone and all the three Note mobile phones provide satisfactory storage. Note 8 has an internal storage of 64 GB expandable to 256 GB whereas Note 9 and Note 10 might have the same internal storage of 128 GB expandable to 256 GB.
The battery life of Samsung smartphones had been a thing of an issue for quite some time so Samsung decided to dig into it to not be left behind and increased the battery capacity to 4000 mAh in Note 9 from 3300 mAh in Note 8. The Galaxy Note 10 might also be having the same battery capacity but we hope that it is enough as the S Pen is now built with upgraded features which will have more battery consumption due to a supercapacitor. It would be better for the company to either increase the battery capacity or find a better solution for S Pen’s battery consumption.
It seems that it is quite obvious that the latest model of a particular series would be better than any of the previous one but that is not true. Each model has pros and cons of its own and in a few cases, the latest model has not been always the best. The latest model of a series surely does contain all the latest features but also does not tell about it is the best. So it becomes difficult for the company to gamble about what features to change and what new features to add. But Samsung is believed to be a risk-taker and so is taking the same for the Galaxy Note 10 and we hope that it pays off.
We hope that the above guide helped you decide your next move considering your purchase of the brand new Galaxy Note. The question now is which one is it?
